ABOUT ME

IMG_1251_edited.jpg

Have you ever had something happen in your life and as you navigate through you think to yourself, there is no way I am the only one? It is that precise feeling that planted the seed for what started out as a small personal passion project to help work through whatever was coming my way. There is something electrifying about being real, raw, and vulnerable so openly. It is not for everyone, and I get that, but for me, it reminded me how gratifying writing is. MY PICK
OF THE MONTH

IMG_5572.jpg

This month’s pick is a playful and tasty treat that’s perfect for getting into the back-to-school spirit! These adorable wafer cookie pencils are just as fun to make as they are to eat and they’re a great way to get the kiddos involved in the kitchen. With just a few simple steps, even the littlest helpers can join in on the fun!

What You’ll Need:

  • Wafer Cookies

  • Pink Candy Melts

  • White Candy Melts

  • Chocolate Chips

 Let’s Make Some Pencil Cookies:

  1. Prep your space: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up and cooling.

  2. Shape the pencils: Use a knife to carefully cut one end of each wafer cookie into a point—two 45-degree angles should do the trick!

  3. Melt the candy: In two separate bowls, melt the pink and white candy melts according to the package directions.

  4. Dip the eraser: Gently dip the flat end of the cookie into the pink candy melts to create the eraser. Let any excess drip off.

  5. Dip the pencil tip: Carefully dip the pointed end into the white candy melts to mimic the wood of a sharpened pencil.

  6. Add the tip: While the white coating is still soft, press a chocolate chip onto the very tip to finish your “pencil.”

  7. Set and snack: Lay the finished cookies on the parchment-lined tray and let them set completely. For quicker results, pop them in the fridge for a few minutes.
